 About VENTOPEDIC productsOur VentopedicTM line of products is built around a unique combination of moisture-transport technology together with a ventilated cushioning support system. Our VentopedicTM products are specially designed and constructed to prevent and treat pressure ulcers. Pressure ulcers, can lead to excessive pain and discomfort in patients and can also be very costly to the healthcare system. By combining Dri Release® fibers with 3-Dimensional VentoAir Fabric, TexMedico has been able to create continuous airflow ventilation along with advanced moisture transportation in all our VentopedicTM products. This unique combination reduces the presence of moisture on the skin thereby reducing the chances of skin breakdown. Dri release® fibers are as soft as cotton, but the material is specifically constructed to draw perspiration, and it will allow it to evaporate faster than regular fabric. The 3-Dimentional VentoAir Fabric provides a ventilated cushioning support system on the human skin which allows the skin to stay comfortably dry and stable. About Dri-Release® Fibers Cellulosic fibers such as cotton and rayon feel great against the skin when dry, because cellulosics are long chains of hydroxyls (OHs). The OHs form hydrogen bonds with the OHs in water, destructing perspiration, and absorbing it into the fabric. Unfortunately, cotton fabrics have too many OHs, causing them to absorb and hold too much moisture. The secret to Dri-Release® moisture-transport technology is the optimization of the special co-polymer polyester and the number of OHs in the fabric. The small percentage of OH scattered throughout the fabric draws perspiration through the fabric, and allows airflow to evaporate it more quickly. About 3-Dimentional VentoAir Fabric 3-Dimentional VentoAir Fabric creates a continuous layer of airflow between fabric and skin which is favorable for regulating the presence of heat and moisture. The fabric’s four way stretch properties also provide a unique combination of support paired with the necessary freedom for the muscles to function.
